VET to Sustain at EfVET Conference 2024: A path for growth and collaboration in Vocational Education and Training  

From October 23 to 26, 2024, the partners of the European project VET to Sustain (Vet2SUS) gathered in Amersfoort, Netherlands, to participate in the 33rd Annual Conference of EfVET (European Forum of Technical and Vocational Education and Training).

This year’s conference theme, “Training Gen Z: New Horizons for VET,” provided an ideal platform to discuss sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity in vocational education, aligning well with the objectives of *VET to Sustain* to modernize and enhance the appeal of vocational education across Europe. 

The EfVET Conference is renowned for bringing together VET professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders from across Europe to share insights, challenges, and successes in the field. This year’s conference focused on preparing Generation Z for a dynamic labor market, and workshops and sessions covered key themes like digitalization, sustainability, and the green transition. The event featured discussions with leading experts and a variety of interactive sessions where participants explored strategies to enhance the image and impact of VET education. 

The partners of VET to Sustain actively participated in these workshops, sharing their project’s goals and outcomes while gaining insights from other VET initiatives. With its emphasis on cooperation and knowledge-sharing, the conference provided a platform to discuss innovative teaching methods and forge strategic connections with other European projects, furthering *VET to Sustain*’s mission of creating sustainable and inclusive VET pathways across Europe.  

EfVET conference provided VET to Sustain with fresh perspectives, tools, and networking opportunities to strengthen its goals of building a forward-looking VET ecosystem across Europe. This experience will enrich the project’s development and reinforce its commitment to innovative, sustainable, and inclusive vocational education.
