On Thursday, 24 October 2024, Aventus (NL) organized the preliminary rounds of the national Skills competitions for the third time under the name ‘Aventus Champions League’.
About 1800 VET students had the chance to showcase their skills and secure a spot for the Skills qualification competitions, where the national final will take place in March 2025 in Amsterdam. The day began festively at the various Aventus locations in Deventer, Zutphen, and Apeldoorn.
Students worked hard on their Skills Heroes assignments in various fields. From plasterer to teaching assistant and from fashion tailor to medical assistant. “It’s great to see so many students putting in effort today and getting to work. And that teachers are thinking about substantial assignments to prepare the students for the qualification competitions and the job market,” says Ellen Marks, President of the Aventus Executive Board. The location in Deventer went all out with workshops, guest speakers, and entertainment, making the day extra festive.
Students who qualified will soon travel all over the Netherlands for the Skills qualification competitions. There are no less than 40 disciplines. They compete for a spot in the final of the Skills competitions, which will take place next year at in Amsterdam. Student Meyra is enthusiastic: “This assignment is a great opportunity to challenge myself!” With the competitions within the Aventus Champions League, Aventus offers its students a chance to showcase their talents and realize their ambitions. Who knows, there might have been a national Skills winner among us today!
