IHK release ceremony of professionals

On the evening of Tuesday, 1 July 2025, the Diepholzer Theater – also the auditorium of the educational institution BBZ Dr. J. Ulderup – hosted the traditional IHK (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) Freisprechung ceremony. This festive event marked an important milestone for apprentices completing their vocational training in the Diepholz region.

Regional director Constantin von Kuczkowski led the ceremony, highlighting the significance of being officially freigesprochen—released from the duties of apprenticeship and recognised as fully qualified professionals. A total of 102 apprentices from a wide range of vocational fields, including electrical engineering, business administration, woodworking, and hospitality, were honoured for successfully passing their final examinations.

Reflections on the Importance of Vocational Training

In his speech, Constantin von Kuczkowski praised the dedication and effort shown by the graduates and underlined the essential role vocational training plays in supporting local industries and addressing the region’s skills demands. He emphasised that each qualified professional contributes directly to the strength and resilience of the local economy.

Warm greetings were also delivered by representatives of both the City and the County. They conveyed the community’s pride in its new skilled professionals and acknowledged the positive impact their work will have on local development. Their words underscored the close connection between vocational success and community well-being.

Deputy Principal Dennis Blum from BBZ Dr. J. Ulderup offered heartfelt reflections on the apprentices’ learning journey. He spoke of the value of perseverance and the crucial support provided by teachers and mentors throughout the training period. He reminded graduates of the personal satisfaction that comes from learning a trade and contributing meaningfully to society.

Awards, Special Recognitions and Cultural Highlights

The ceremony also included the presentation of special awards to outstanding apprentices. The Seitz Foundation recognised top achievers with monetary prizes ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 euros as well as scholarships to support further training. These awards highlighted not only academic success but also commitment and excellence in practical work.

The evening’s programme featured musical interludes, with performances of Bach and Brahms beautifully interpreted by pianist Alina Stel. These artistic moments added a touch of elegance to the formal proceedings.

Networking and Celebrations

Following the official ceremony, graduates, trainers, IHK representatives, and local business leaders gathered in the foyer to celebrate. Over refreshments, conversations flowed freely, creating an atmosphere of shared pride and warm recognition of the achievements being honoured. All in all, the IHK Freisprechung at the Diepholzer Theater offered a dignified and festive celebration of vocational accomplishment. By formally marking the transition from apprenticeship to certified professional status, the event reinforced the close link between skilled craftsmanship and regional prosperity. It was a memorable evening for graduates, their families, teachers, trainers, and the wider community—signalling the beginning of many promising careers.
