The VET2Sustain project partners gathered in Savonlinna, Finland, from 9–11 June 2026 to review achievements, share best practices, and plan the final phase of the project.
During the project, a strong European partnership and cooperation network has been established, supported by surveys, and practical recommendations. AI and XR pilots have been successfully implemented, and many events have been organised. In parallel, stakeholder dialogue has been actively strengthened across partner countries.
During the meeting, partners reflected on the most effective practices developed within the project. Various events have been organised for different target groups to promote vocational education and training (VET), resulting in new approaches that will continue beyond the project’s lifetime. These activities have already demonstrated their value in engaging learners, educators, and stakeholders.
A key topic of discussion was how to ensure the practical uptake of project results. Partners agreed to place greater emphasis on producing concise, user-friendly summaries alongside more extensive deliverables, making outcomes easier to apply in everyday practice.
Looking ahead, the partnership will focus on finalising and validating pilot activities, sharing good practices, and strengthening sustainability and exploitation plans. Creating a long-term strategic action plan to maintain the attractiveness of VET will be a key priority in the final phase of the project.
The final six months of the project will include several dissemination events, which were jointly planned during the meeting. Importantly, many of the project’s successful activities will continue after the project ends. A strong example is the student forum in Brussels, first held in November 2025, which is expected to become a recurring event in the future.
The Savonlinna meeting confirmed the project’s strong progress and reinforced the partners’ commitment to ensuring lasting impact for VET development across Europe.
